ABOUT KMT

Operators who install what they recommend.

We're a small team of senior operators who install the financial systems, operating discipline, and software that owner-led businesses outgrew — without the cost of a full-time CFO or COO.

OUR STORY

Why Kenny & Murphy Technologies exists.

Owner-led businesses between $2M and $20M hit the same wall. The books are kept but nobody can read them, the operating process lives in the founder's head, and the software is three spreadsheets and a tool nobody asked for. A full-time CFO or COO is overkill, and the typical fix — another bookkeeper, another consultant, another SaaS subscription — only adds to the pile.

We started KMT to do the work instead of advising on it. We install the financial systems, the operating discipline, and the AI-ready workflows a growing business actually needs — turning growth from a fire drill into a repeatable engine, without the cost or overhead of a full-time CFO or COO. Finance and operations are the same problem seen from two sides, so we keep them on one accountable team rather than handing you three vendors who point at each other.

Financial reporting and forecasting

OUR APPROACH

The money is already there.

Most small businesses don't have a revenue problem — they have a visibility problem. We install the systems that surface it: the forecasts, the dashboards, the operating rhythm that turns growth from a fire drill into a repeatable engine.

WHO YOU WORK WITH

The people who do the work.

Alex Kenny

Alex Kenny

Co-Founder · Finance & Controls (Fractional CFO)

Alex builds the financial systems that let owners lead with confidence — fixing the slow closes, shaky forecasts, and spreadsheet dependencies that keep a business looking backward. Over a decade in industrial and technology finance, he has run multi-site P&Ls and nine-figure capital projects, surfaced seven-figure balance-sheet exposures, and recovered millions through process redesign. B.A. Economics (Michigan State), QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor, and pursuing the CMA.

Max Murphy

Max Murphy

Co-Founder · Operations & Systems (Fractional COO)

Max clears the operational and systems bottlenecks that stall mid-sized growth — aging ERPs, undersized service functions, procurement gaps, and finance-and-operations stacks that don't talk to each other. Across fifteen years leading complex operations on three continents, he has built procurement organizations, run Acumatica rollouts, and delivered capital projects on time and on budget. B.S. Electrical Engineering (Oklahoma State), MBA (Quantic), PMP, and QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor.

HOW WE WORK

Four principles, no exceptions.

Operators, not a sales team

Senior operators do the work — not juniors, not account managers, not someone who hands you off the moment the contract is signed.

Finance, operations & software in one team

Most fractional firms do exactly one of these. We hold all three on one accountable team, because the numbers, the process, and the tools are the same problem seen from different angles.

AI-first, but never AI-only

We use AI where it earns its keep and we're honest about where it doesn't. ERPs and AI amplify whatever's underneath — without operating discipline, they just amplify the chaos.

Secure by design

Because we install the systems that run your business, we build to ISO 27001 / SOC 2 principles from the first day — encrypted, backed up, and audit-logged.
